A CLASS! OUR BOARD GAME!

We had great fun learning the numbers 1- 10!

On day 1 we repeated the numbers so as the students to get well acquainted with them and coloured the train! On day 2 I brought dice and pawns to play a board game.The  ''start'' point is the engine of the train and the ''finish'' point is number 10. We played the game first in twos and then in larger groups. When the dice hit the ''ice cream'' square or the ''pear'' square the player lost his/ her turn! 

The students really enjoyed it since they love playing board games!

They even kept scores! A fun way teaching numbers that cost really little money!

Our first interactive notebook!

Our first attempt for the interactive notebook is a fact!

In second grade students learn a great amount of new vocabulary. So we need a way  to learn it in a quick and effective way but also to review it when necessary.

I think the interactive notebook is the best fun way to achieve this. It is a notebook that is totally created by students and they can enrich it every time we learn a new word.

We can also categorize the new words under its starting letter!

The '' Good'' and ''Bad'' jars...

A very interesting and fun way to learn  new vocabulary about food!

Our first graders had fun learning new vocabulary.

First we repeated the words many times, we coloured and cut the pictures of food...

Then, each student glued his/her pictures in the right jar naming the food in the same time.'' Is the sandwich good or bad? What about fish? What kind of food is there in the GOOD jar? ''

Next time I will use velcro tape in order for the students to use the jars again and again.
